If you are looking for a new or used pontoon boat, we hope you will visit us on the beautiful Portage Lakes, just south of Akron, Ohio.

We are OPEN in our new location and into winterizations and Fall service.

We have a good selection of pontoon boat models between Sanpan, Aqua Patio and Sweetwaters. A number of different sizes and colors of models are available for your viewing.

We normally have used pontoon boats for sale, and sometimes "noncurrent" models. The selection varies from week to week.

The boat rental season is now over. While we wish we could offer pontoon rental for a longer period of time, the level of the Portage Lakes is lowered by the State of Ohio on October 6th this year, so we retire boat rentals before that date.

Burch's Landing, on the East Reservoir of the Portage Lakes, was established by the Burch family in 1925 as the Edgewater Barbecue. For years, visitors to the lakes could enjoy chicken and ribs, and a canoe ride along the scenic shoreline.

Soon after Mr. Burch passed away in 1979, Ross and Laurie Kieffer purchased the property. Ross quit his sales career and Laurie gave up teaching to take over the "oldest continuously operating canoe livery in the state of Ohio". They expanded the business to include pontoon boat rental, pontoon boat sales and service, and a nautical gift shop.

Today, you can rent a pontoon boat to cruise the wonderful waters of the Portage Lakes State Park. Unlike some state parks, the Portage Lakes are lined with beautiful private residences and full-serve restaurants. Add to that the typical park areas of swimming, picnicing and hiking and you have a spectacular day of activities available to you!

In late summer of 2008, Ross and Laurie purchased the previously named Leighton's Boathouse, just down the shoreline from their Burch's Landing location. They moved all of their operations to the much larger facility and were able to add service to include IOs and inboards. In addition, they more than doubled their accessory store and can now display many new boats for sale under roof. They offer seasonal slip rental and continued pontoon boat rental.

We will close for winter before Thanksgiving. Then we will reopen for Spring the first week of April. Our Spring services include pontoon boat trailer service, start-up services for outboards, IOs and inboards, our store full of boating accessories and also interior cleaning, detailing and carpet pressure-washing.
